Royal Institute of British Architects The RIBA flagship service is the online library catalogue, which can trace over 150,000 references to articles in design journals.

AskBRE The information site provided for every professional concerned with The Built Environment, by The Building Research Establishment
Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) The site for construction managers and professionals.
Chartered Insitution of Building Services Engineers A useful site for viewing CIBSE research, and publications such as Design Guides.
Davis Langdon and Seah International Downloadable cost models for various building types.
Federation of Master Builders (BRIX) The host provides, inter alia, lists of publications, and master builders around the UK.
Institution of Structural Engineers The technical section of the website contains consultation papers, reviews of codes and drafts of current papers.
Office for National Statistics The government site for statistics, arranged by subject.
Office of the Deputy Prime Minister pdf versions of The Building Regulations can be found online here, but the text is not searchable. (See also Construction Information service from databases).

This service delivers
Ordnance Survey Map Data to UK Higher Education. Maps can be produced online and
printed on A4 paper or digital map data downloaded for use with appropriate
application software such as CAD or GIS. (ATHENS User Id and Password
required. Once you
have registered with ATHENS, please complete the Digimap Personal Registration
Form - on the Digimap site ; sign it and contact Russell Good (Digimap Site
Representative) in the Faculty of the Built Environment (Room E609). to complete
your registration ).
Housing Corporation News from the Corporation, Best Practice and Architectural reports.
Housing Today Journal articles on homelessness available from Housing Today and other journals.
ICE Virtual Library While much information on this site is free many of the pages are subscription only. However the ICE catalogue can be searched.
Images of England A digital library from English National Heritage and National Monuments Record, charting England's 370,000 listed buildings, for use in private research or study. Registration is required.

Joseph Rowntree Foundation A helpful site for research into housing, homelessness and social problems.
Megacities 2000 Lectures, texts, reports and statistics on large cities, from a disseminating Netherlands body.
National Housing Federation The NHF is the voice for independent social landlords.
Office for National Statistics The government statistics site.
Office of the Deputy Prime Minister The new Office brings together regional and local government (including the regional Government Offices), housing, planning and regeneration along with the social exclusion unit and neighbourhood renewal.
Online planning A series of working papers from the Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis.
Ordnance Survey Britain's national mapping agency, listing its products and data available.
The Planners Web This is a site of urban and regional resources, maintained by Planning Commissioners Journal.
Royal Institute of Town Planning An archive of policy statements is available on this website.
Social Exclusion Unit Includes Deprivation Indexes, Local Authority case studies and news on minority ethnic issues.
SOSIG (Social Science Information Gateway) Provides access to a huge range of Internet resources relevant to the social sciences. Searchable by keyword, or you can browse through resources in broad subject areas.
5. SPECIAL STUDIES AND DISSERTATIONS
Architecture, Housing and Planning dissertations from 1992 onwards are kept in the Kenrick library and are generally available for borrowing. There are a number of pre-1992 volumes kept in the stack, and you may ask for these at the Library Enquiry Desk. To view our current holding please select from the following list:

No recent Landscape dissertations have been deposited with the library, and Property and Construction School examples are kept in the Edge Information Room (629). This means they are not available at weekends.
Unfortunately there is insufficient space either in the library or in the Information Room for all the Built Environment dissertations to be kept in a united collection.
