• BAILII (British and Irish Legal Information Institute) - provides access to British and Irish case law & legislation, European Union case law, Law Commission reports, and other law-related British and Irish material.

• Bills before Parliament - UK Parliament site listing all Bills currently before Parliament.

• Cardiff Index to Legal Abbreviations - produced by Cardiff University.

• Citing the Law - pages from Cardiff University showing how to cite cases and legislation, i.e. the ‘primary’ sources of law, in the accepted way, refer to ‘secondary’ sources such as books, journals and government reports in your work and cite using OSCOLA, the Oxford Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities.

• EUR-Lex - provides direct free access to European Union law, including the Official Journal of the European Union as well as the treaties, legislation, case-law and legislative proposals.

• Hansard (the Official Report) - the edited verbatim report of proceedings in both Houses of Parliament.

• Home Office - the lead government department for immigration, passports, counter-terrorism, policing, drugs and crime.

• House of Lords Judgments - all House of Lords judgments delivered from 14 November 1996 to 31 July 2009. For later cases go to The Supreme Court.

• Internet for Law -  a JISC funded free online tutorial designed to help university students develop their Internet research skills.

• Justice Information on the administration and regulation of the justice system in England and Wales from various organisations, including the Ministry of Justice, the HM Courts and Tribunals Service, the Youth Justice Board and National Offender Management Service.

• Law Commission - the statutory independent body created  to keep the law under review and to recommend reform where it is needed.

• Law Society - Body representing solicitors in England and Wales.

• Legal Resources in the UK and Ireland  - links to web sites providing information for individuals, companies, lawyers and students.

• Legal Skills Guide  - taken from Gary Slapper's The English Legal System, this contains a guide to using legal resources (including paper sources).

• Legislation.gov.uk - The official home of UK legislation, revised and as enacted 1267-present. This website is managed by The National Archives on behalf of HM Government

• Lexis Library  - database including full-text UK statutes, case law, legislation and journals.

• Official Documents is the official reference facility for Command Papers, House of Commons Papers and key Departmental Papers.

• The Supreme Court   - the final court of appeal in the UK for civil cases. It hears appeals in criminal cases from England, Wales and Northern Ireland. It hears cases of the greatest public or constitutional importance affecting the whole population.

• Westlaw  - database Including legal journals, statutes, a case locator service, and the full Law Reports.
